Green Impact
Affordable, accessible energy
We have equipped over 3,300 off-grid families with affordable energy that enables work, play and savings that go into their futures.
Our mission is to work towards powering 34,000 off-grid Orang Asli homes and 250,000 off-grid Orang Asal (Sabah & Sarawak) homes in the next 7 years with our partners.

THE PROBLEM
1.5 million people in Malaysia live off-grid and lack basic access to energy
Energy is very expensive when you live off-grid
374,000 homes
in Malaysia have no access to affordable energy.
RM 620 million
is spent on alternative energy by these families every year.
Basic illumination is 30-100 times more expensive when you live off-grid.
For example, RM6 powers a light bulb via a generator for 2 hours. By contrast, the same amount we pay on-grid gives us 720 hours of light.
This burden falls on Orang Asli communities, where 1 in 3 earn below RM1000 per month.
This means they often go without lighting when fuel becomes unaffordable, or resort to kerosene, torch light or even firewood, none of which are reliable and lasting illumination
The longer this drags on, the more burdensome the financial drag. Over 10 years, these households would be paying RM6.2B for these meagre lighting options.

OUR SOLUTION
We install Pico Home Lighting Solar System for off-grid homes

We Power to Empower
For every customer that installs solar with SOLS Energy, we install a Pico Solar System for an Orang Asli home that has no access to electricity.
One-for-One.
The Complete Home Lighting system
- 19 hours of consistent lighting daily
- Lights shine 90x brighter than kerosene
- USB port for charging multiple mobile phone
- Motion sensor security light

Lighting the lives of off-grid communities
- Consistent light and access to electricity are massive drivers of growth and achievement.
- Installing the Pico Solar System raises productive hours from 4-8 hours to 48 hours a week, giving the households time for work and leisure.
Families start saving money from day one
- Switching to a solar system that is 50 times cheaper reduces the burdens of marginalised communities.
- By saving on petrol for generators, families reinvest the money into better food, and schooling expenses for their kids.

A gift that keeps on giving
A solar system that costs RM1,588 helps a family save up to RM4,000 every year.
This solution provides consistent lighting for the next 6 - 8 years, giving families more time for work, play and education.
