Operations Manager
Role Summary
The Operations Manager is the deputy of the Director of Operations at SOLS Energy, responsible for keeping the internal engine of the business running so frontline teams can work without friction. This is a hands-on execution role covering the people, systems, physical workspace, and operational routines that hold the organisation together day to day.
In this role you will:
- Run the daily operations standup, keep teams aligned on priorities, and remove internal blockers that slow other departments.
- Ensure all internal operational workflows run on schedule, and spend time on the ground observing how work actually happens.
- Build, document, and maintain SOPs for all internal workflows including facilities, logistics, vehicle management, and team routines.
- Apply the DSAA methodology (Delete, Simplify, Accelerate, Automate) to recurring processes and own the operational process library.
- Directly manage and develop the Operations team, set clear ownership, run regular 1:1s, and coach through action.
- Manage all physical workplace needs, keeping the office clean, functional, safe, and professional.
- Coordinate maintenance, repairs, access systems, utilities, and building management relationships.
- Manage the operational stores so items are organised, accounted for, and accessible to the teams that need them.
- Provide the Director of Operations with a clear weekly update and surface blockers with proposed solutions, not just problems.
To be shortlisted for this position, you will need to have:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in an operations, facilities, or office management leadership role.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain SOPs, accountability structures, and team routines from scratch.
- Strong people management skills, able to develop, coach, and hold team members accountable.
- Organised and detail-oriented, noticing what is out of place and acting on it without being told.
- Clear communicator in both English and Bahasa Malaysia, written and verbal.
- Comfortable using Google Workspace tools and learning new digital systems quickly.
- High follow-through, with tasks that do not fall through the cracks.
- Ground-level orientation, managing by being present rather than reading reports from a desk.
