The Intern in the Accounting Department plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the organization's financial transactions. This position offers hands-on experience in various accounting tasks, including accounts receivable management, collections update, accounts payable, payment processing, and other related administrative duties. Responsibilities cover daily activities crucial to maintaining financial records and supporting the overall operations of the accounting department.
In this role you will:
- Collection Monitoring and Updates: responsible for monitoring and updating the collection process. This involves keeping track of incoming payments, ensuring accuracy, and updating relevant systems or trackers regularly.
- Payment Preparation and Processing: involved in the preparation and processing of payments. This includes tasks such as ensuring proper documentation, and coordinating with internal teams to facilitate timely and accurate payments.
- Filing and Documentation: organizing and maintaining financial records, including filing and documentation of invoices, receipts, and other financial documents.
- Administrative Support: Assist in entering financial data into spreadsheets or databases.
To be shortlisted for this position, you will need to have:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and record-keeping.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes, with exposure to both accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet software.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a customer service-oriented approach.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic work environment.
